OOTD series: Story of the shorts

I have always loved shorts – short shorts, medium shorts, Bermudas, athletic shorts and so on. But I hardly wore them while I lived in India during my teenage and young adult years – when I did not have cellulite on my thighs or fat knees, if that is a thing! ๐Ÿ™‚

The reason(s) are obvious – creepy guys leering at you and basically eating you up with just their eyes and stupid comments. I lived in Chennai, India then, and shorts was not something that you would want to wear anywhere outside, so I only wore them at home. Even that, my neighbours used to stare at.

Don’t get me wrong, I never did care about what people think – I wear what I want, how I want, when I want. But battling the leeches on a daily basis and bearing those berating comments from creepy guys wasn’t something that I was excited about.

So, when I moved to Singapore – freedom it was!!! Freedom in many ways, but freedom to wear shorts wherever and whenever I want ๐Ÿ™‚ YAY!!! As Ashley Graham says, show off that cellulite ๐Ÿ™‚

So that is my story of my shorts ๐Ÿ™‚ Ha ha…. I am in a total fun mood today. Below are different looks of shorts for different occasions. My fav is look 4, followed by look 1, check it out below and let me know what you think!

Look 1: This is essentially not shorts, but I classify them under dresses and shorts. It is a romper ๐Ÿ™‚ Finally I found a comfy and super sexy romper that fits me! I do not remember wear I bought this one, but it was affordable for sure.

Paired it with a cotton jacket from W for Woman and I was ready to go – hiking, trekking followed by dinner and drinks with friends.

Look 2: I just love the army green colour and bought this pair of shorts just for the colour. But they ended up being super comfy as well and well fitted for those thunder thighs… LOL…

Paired it with a cotton shirt, sling bag and brightly-coloured Crocs for an evening of kite flying, running around with my son – playing hide and seek and catch-catch, and eventually dinner at a Thai restaurant.

Look 3: This shorts was an impulse buy and a steal (from a local store in Singapore at just $10) but worked out to be beautiful. Wore it on my trip to Krabi in Jan 2018. Paired it with a bright blue and gold top from LA, USA and a lacy cardigan with fringes from TEMT, Singapore. Wore red feather earrings and Crocs to complete the look

Look 4: This is my most fav look. I paired a kurta gifted by my sister-in-law with black shorts. I received lot of compliments for this one and it was a spur of the moment decision to pair it this way. I added on a beaded necklace, Crocs and a sling bag. It was an awesome Saturday of shopping later on ๐Ÿ™‚

Look 5: Black is always my colour and this is the same shorts from look 4. This time, on the vacation in Krabi, I paired it with a floral kaftan top, flip flops, a cap, brightly coloured sunglasses and ready to take on the day by the beach!

So, that is my story of shorts. Do check out my Instagram feed (@scisandhya) for more pics and #ootd pictures.
