If you have been following me on Instagram (if you aren’t, please do :)… my handle is @scisandhya), you would have come across this H&M dress that I bought on sale…. actually I almost didn’t buy it – but I am so glad I did.
After finishing a meeting in the city (Singapore), I headed to H&M just to have a look – well in my defence, it said SALE and everything looked reasonably priced. I did not expect to find anything that fits me, because H&M rarely has anything above US10 size….
So, I still went around (I love window shopping) and found this green dress with flowers on it and ruffles…
Tried it on and it fit like a glove….and only cost S$15!!! But it had an odd high collar and full sleeves. I don’t prefer both and was very doubtful of buying it. While in the trial room, I finally decided to buy it and take the risk – plus it was just S$15/-.
The next weekend I decided to wear it for an evening of window shopping with the family. Ended up shopping so much more at H&M.. LOL (Will talk about this in my lookbook next week). But i really wasn’t comfortable with the full sleeves, in Singapore’s hot and humid weather, so me being me, ended up altering it and shortening the sleeves to 3/4th length.
Being plus-size (for SE Asia standards) is very rarely an advantage, especially in Singapore, when only the extra-large (XL or XXL) branded clothes are left behind and eventually put on sale for throwaway prices…he he 🙂 .. works well for me!
Paired it with grey feather earrings from @lovisajewellery, a red bag from @batasingapore and beaded flats from Soles (India). Kept it simple with the hair and makeup to showcase the dress. I now love this dress, comfortable, looks good and feels good too.
Enjoy the pics below and do leave comments if you like the dress and look 🙂
